What are the advantages and care requirements of Marble?
Marble offers timeless elegance with unique veining, ideal for bathrooms, fireplaces, and accents. It's softer and more porous than granite or quartzite, requiring diligent sealing to prevent etching (dulling from acids like lemon juice or vinegar) and staining. Regular pH-neutral cleaners are essential. While stunning, marble demands more maintenance than other stones, making it less ideal for high-traffic kitchens without careful use. Honed finishes hide etching better than polished. -

How durable are Granite and Quartzite for countertops?
Both Granite and Quartzite are exceptionally hard, heat-resistant, and highly durable natural stones, perfect for busy kitchens. Granite offers vast color/pattern variety. Quartzite (metamorphic sandstone, not engineered quartz) often resembles marble but boasts superior scratch/etch resistance. Both require initial sealing but are generally lower maintenance than marble. Quartzite can be harder to fabricate than granite. Their natural strength makes them top choices for heavy-use surfaces.

What makes Quartz (Engineered Stone) a popular choice?
Quartz countertops are engineered from crushed quartz mineral (90%+) bound with resins and pigments. Key benefits include extreme durability, non-porosity (no sealing ever needed!), high resistance to stains, scratches, and etching, plus vast consistent color/pattern options. It's lower maintenance than natural stone. Important considerations: It's not heat-proof (use trivets), prolonged UV exposure can cause fading, and the seams might be slightly more visible than natural stone.
